Introducing

grannie annie

More Pepper. More Flavour. More Grannie.

Some sauces are mostly vinegar with a little fire. Grannie Annie is true Caribbean pepper sauce. Peppers first, flavour always, and heat that knows how to behave.

It doesn’t cover up your food. It brings it to life.

Miss Annie's Roots

Sarah-Ann Thomas, affectionately known as Miss Annie, migrated from Montserrat to Antigua in 1960. A hardworking farmer, loving mother, grandmother, and gifted cook, she became known for her unforgettable homemade pepper sauce.

A recipe is passed down

Miss Annie shared her famous pepper sauce recipe with her eldest grandson, Calbert, when he was just eight years old. Together, they made it for family gatherings, keeping the tradition alive around the table.

Calbert carries the flavour forward

Calbert revived the family recipe, taught his own family how to make it, and began creating new flavours inspired by Miss Annie’s original sauce including Mango Twist using mangos from Grannie Annie's tree.

Merrill brings Grannie Annie home

As a frequent visitor to Antigua and longtime lover of pepper sauce, Merrill discovered Grannie Annie in Jolly Harbour and brought bottles home to Canada. One Christmas, he introduced the sauce to his daughter, Roxanne, knowing her love of good food and spice and she instantly fell in love (so did the entire family).

Grannie Annie's new adventure in Canada

With demand growing and Grannie Annie becoming harder to get, Merrill and Roxanne saw an opportunity to bring something truly special to Canada. Together, as a father-daughter company, they are proud to honour the sauce’s Antiguan roots while sharing its bold Caribbean flavour with Canadian kitchens.
